Streaming

Why streaming?

Streaming has emerged as a vital platform for companies to assess the popularity of their artists, expand the reach of their music to global audiences, and enhance exposure for them. Beyond merely aiding in the chart performance of artists, streaming serves as a crucial tool for industry stakeholders to gauge the demand for their music.

Maximizing the Impact of Your Streams

Embrace Human Interaction Over Automation

  • Access any of your streaming accounts.

  • Navigate to your favorite artist's page or opt for playlists focusing on specific songs.

  • Play or shuffle the playlist.

  • Occasionally engage with the streaming platform by liking songs, skipping tracks, or switching playlists.

Crucial Reminder!

Avoid Continuous Looping!

While music is undeniably captivating, continuous looping of the same song or playlist does not contribute to increasing stream counts.

Avoid VPN Usage!

Employing a Virtual Private Network (VPN) is deemed as unfair practice, as streaming platforms' algorithms are adept at detecting such activity, resulting in the exclusion of streams from the count.

Spotify is one of the most important streaming services. It helps with sales, charts & certifications. if the song is added to big playlists, such as 'Today's Top Hits', 'Happy Hits', 'New Music Friday', it's a good way of promotion and streams will increase

How are streams counted?

  • Streams are counted in when a song is streamed for over 30 seconds.

  • Streams for offline music are counted on the day the listener goes online again (which must happen at least once every 30 days).

  • Both premium and free accounts can stream a song multiple times. However, only the first 20 streams per account per day count towards the charts.

How are streams counted for a release?
Streams are counted for a release by adding up the individual counts for each song on the release.
This means that if a song appears on both an EP and an album, stream counts for the song will contribute to both the EP and album stream counts.
